God's Testimonies Are Fully Confirmed
Note from today’s Bible reading: 1 Chronicles 6; Psalm 81; 88; 92-93
Psalm 93 begins with a reminder of God’s work in creation: “Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved” (Psalm 93:1). Immediately after that, the psalmist said to God, “Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting” (Psalm 93:2).
The immovable nature of creation is a reminder of the eternal nature of God and His rule. After the flood, God reminded Noah that the seasons, days, and His providence would continue perpetually (Genesis 8:22). Paul told the people of Lystra that this ongoing providence was a “witness” to the existence of God and His care for mankind (Acts 14:16-17). We continue to see this today.
This constant reminder of God in the natural world also assures that we can trust His word. The psalmist wrote, “Your testimonies are fully confirmed; holiness befits Your house, O Lord, forevermore” (Psalm 93:5). God did not just give us His word; He “fully confirmed” it so that we have a reasonable basis for believing it.
So remember that God’s testimonies are fully confirmed. All He has said He would do has been done, even in the ongoing work of the world around us. Therefore, we can trust His word and place our hope in Him to keep His promises and reward the faithful.
