Only Truth Will Lead Us to God
Note from today’s Bible reading: 1 Chronicles 1-2; Psalm 43-45; 49
God is the creator, sustainer, and protector of man. The only true way to have security and hope is through Him. Yet how can anyone find their way to God?
Many acknowledge the existence of God and their need to come to Him for hope of eternal life. Yet rather than follow the way He has revealed in His word, many choose to make their own path, assuming this will lead them to His presence.
Yet notice what the psalmist wrote: “O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling places” (Psalm 43:3). The psalmist acknowledged two vital truths in this verse. First, he needed to humble himself to accept the truth that was revealed from heaven. Second, following that truth was the only way to arrive at God’s “holy hill” and His “dwelling places.” These are the same realities that we need to acknowledge today.
So remember that only truth will lead us to God. Following any other way – no matter how sincere we may be – will lead us somewhere else. Let us be humble enough to follow His word no matter what direction it leads us through this life, knowing that in the end, it will lead us into His presence.
